Each year San Jose Leadership
Council chooses an Alumni Community Leader of the Year. This prestigious award
recognizes graduates of Community Leadership San Jose for their commitment and
work in the community.
This
year we are proud to honor Sarah Clish (’96). Anyone who knows Sarah
understands just how deserving she is to receive this award. A native of San
Jose, she has volunteered in support of many nonprofit organizations during the
past 20 years and has served the Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity alumnae club in
many different leadership positions during that time.
“This
award is past due for Sarah, who has served dozens of nonprofits over the last
20 years,” said Rick Holden, SJLC executive director. “She has almost
singlehandedly been running the Steinway Society since the untimely passing of
the ED over a year ago — this perfectly sums up Sarah, who just gets involved,
makes this happen and stays committed to the organizations she serves.”
Today
Sarah volunteers with: Project Cornerstone (steering committee member);
Steinway Society the Bay Area (president of the board); San Jose Children’s
Musical Theater (chair of the audit committee); San Jose Leadership Council
(past president and chair of the board connection committee).
When
she’s not out working for our community, she is a Certified Financial Planner
with Ameriprise Financial. Sarah will be recognized at the San Jose Silicon
Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Legends & Leaders dinner at the Fairmont Hotel
Nov. 4. Congratulations Sarah, and thanks for all your efforts to make San Jose
a better place to live, work and play.
