 Walking tour of The Alameda
Want to visit one of San Jose's historic neighborhoods?

For more than 200 years, The Alameda has been at the heart of San Jose’s most vibrant and historic neighborhoods. While only 27 of the original 69 historic buildings remain, the neighborhood is undergoing a revitalization that includes adding new, modern businesses while striving to preserve and enhance its historic nature. The story of The Alameda will be brought to light through a walking tour of the "Grand Boulevard" and a brief discussion of the neighborhood’s efforts to regain history through the Pillar Project to restore the gateway to The Alameda.

Join other members of the San Jose Leadership Council for this unique opportunity to learn about one of San Jose’s most historic neighborhoods.

SJLC is scheduling a guided historical walk through the Shasta-Hanchett neighborhood and along The Alameda on Wed., Sept. 17 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

We’ll start at a private residence and end at a local wine bar on The Alameda. Directions will be provided when you RSVP. E-mail Rick at rick@sjleadership.org, or call (408) 291-5256 by Sept. 8.

Don’t miss this historical and fascinating walking tour!
